THE STORY:

In 3 years, I hope to be free and completely clear of any and all cancer.

In 3 years, I hope to help raise at least $110,612 (this specific number stands for the date of my diagnosis and wedding date, 11/06/12) for cancer support groups and research.

In 3 years, I hope that I've helped raised more awareness than I ever thought I could've.

In 3 years, I hope that we'll be closer to a cure, actually, I hope we find a CURE now.

I really ****ing hate cancer, and I hate it when people don't think its something to worry about. Its a world problem, and it'll take the world to help find a cure.

We can and will fight this as a team....the closer we get to finding a cure, the longer we have to laugh, love and live together..or be miserable about other things.

Please, touch up your loved ones, touch up yourselves, get screened, remind others around you to, early detection is all we really have right now. Don't neglect your health.

If it weren't for my husband, Duncan aka ManMadeMoon, I probably wouldn't be fighting as hard as WE are today.

For more on how we found out, click here. Or here: http://rodene.wordpress.com

Let's live longer and LOVE longer, let's find a cure together.

Let's find a way to STOP cancer from taking any more lives.

Even if you and your loved ones haven't had to face cancer YET, there's a high chance that somebody you love will have to battle this harsh disease in your future.

Any and every donation is important and very much appreciated.

I hope I don't have to raise money for Tower Cancer Foundation for long, because they'll be a dang cure soon. Meantime, I want to support their efforts in all areas of research and cancer patient support. Please join me.

So much love,
♥ the Joneses. ♥

What I want to do with this fundraiser as well, is to have a photo session with other cancer patients and print them out keepsake photo books. When I was in treatment I found comfort in putting together photo books, of everyone I loved and just of the different things I found important. I would use some of the funds raised to print out quality photo books for each family, and use other funds to host events to raise awareness, and help lighten the load off of other patients. I just want to help, do good things, and lessen the amount of stress cancer causes.

Tower Cancer Research Foundation, Spirit of Survival

A non-profit (501c3) organization, Tower Cancer Research Foundation has been the Southern California cancer patient’s greatest ally since 1996.  The foundation provides grants for clinical trials, innovative cancer research, caring patient support and community education.

While medical treatment is the first step in fighting cancer, TCRF recognizes the importance of treating the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. According to a 2010 study, more than half of all cancer survivors report distress levels high enough to warrant professional intervention (Massie, Lloyd-Williams, Irving, & Miller).

Through the Spirit of Survival patient support program, TCRF addresses these needs by providing workshops that empower patients and their families to maximize their health as well as emotional well-being.  These workshops can be divided into five different categories: creative classes (i.e. art connection), mind/body/spirt workshops (i.e. mindfulness mediation, Reiki, hypnotherapy), exercise classes (i.e. hatha yoga, strength training), lectures (i.e. Chinese Integrative Medicine, nutrition), and support groups (i.e. young adult after breast cancer treatment support group, cancer survivor couples support group).

While the needs of each individual are different, research indicates that participation in psychosocial support programs, like those offered at TCRF, has a positive impact on quality of life in adult cancer patients (Watson, 1983). The donation you make today will allow us to continue to provide all of the Spirit of Survival programs at no cost to cancer community.
