Tough mudding through ALS

Dear Friends,

In the past year, I had the honor of serving as a committee member of the ALS Association, and experienced first hand the dedication and care displayed by other staff and volunteers. I intend to continue my path of serving on a personal level, so I've set my personal fundraising goal at $1026, which is also my bond number in the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Here at Crowdrise, I plan to raise portion of $300. You can help too by making a tax-deductible donation.

Net proceeds will go towards the ALS association that has three areas of concentration: ALS research, advocacy, and patient care. The ALS association has been rated 4/4 by Charity Navigator and two GuideStar, two different independent charity watchdog groups.

According to The ALS Association, approximately 5,600 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with ALS each year. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death.

In addition to doing the tough mudder, I am in the process of starting a bilingual ALS blog that documents the ongoing fundraising events in the LA ALS Association Golden West Chapter, my organization on the UCLA campus, and occasionally interview with professors in the field of ALS research.

I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
