Olivia turned 5 in August, the same month that she completed her last round of chemotherapy. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, a "Wilms Tumor" in late winter 2014. Her treatment the last several months included removing one kidney, chemo and several roller-coaster rides of emotion. Unfortunately she does have some residual side effects from the chemo but as an outsider looking in she looks like a pretty "normal" and happy 5 year old. As a friend of her mom Marina I have been following their journey and find myself in awe of their strength and optimism. One can't help but think what if this was my child. I wonder about the families in our city that go through this every day, month and year that I don't know and can't see their struggle from the outside. Please join us in raising money for Children's Hospital's Treatment After Cancer and Late Effect Center in honor of Olivia and her beautiful family.
