Help Rebuild Tower Hill Municipal School Fund
Organized by: Fredisia Francis
We are thankful for the opportunity to have been able to provide desks and benches for students in 3 classrooms, paint the inside and outside of classes 1 through 3, fix the ceilings in those classes, cement the assembly area, and provide school supplies

We, former students of Tower Hill Municipal School, are raising money to help Tower Hill Municipal School in Freetown, Sierra Leone. We have taken the process in Phases. We are very grateful that we met our Phase One and Two goals, thanks to generous support from our donors. We have contracted with a carpenter in Freetown, who made our first 124 desks and benches for us. Please see the updated pictures on the site.
With the $8,257 donations raised so far, we have been able to:
- Provide 124 desks & benches for students in 3 classrooms.
- Paint the inside and outside of 3 classrooms (classes 1, 2, 3).
- Fix the ceilings in 3 classrooms (classes 1, 2, 3).
- Cement the main student assembly area.
- Provide school supplies, (pencils, pens, erasers, sharpeners, crayons, rulers, mini note pads) for the entire school (1,169 students). - Cost for supplies paid individually by a couple of our fundraising leaders.
There are 22 classrooms at Tower Hill Municipal School, and we have only been able to help out with 3 of them. We now move on to Phase Three, which is to repair major damages to some of the classrooms, and provide additional desks & benches for the remaining classrooms that are in dire need of replacement. $45 provides a desk and bench for 3 students in a class.
Please view the pictures on the site to see the extremely hazardous conditions of the classrooms. This process in Phase Three will be costly, and we are unable to accomplish this without your help. We kindly ask that you please consider helping us by donating. If you haven't already donated, it is not too late to do so. If you have already donated, and would like to do so again, we would be very grateful. You will be making a difference in these students' lives, and your contribution will be of great help to them.
This is a project of love for us, because each of us have fond memories of attending Tower Hill Municipal School as children. For many of us, that was the last school we attended before relocating to the United States or the UK. Several of us are still friends and have been friends since we first entered Tower Hill in class 1 (kindergarten). We value the education we received at Tower Hill Municipal School and would like the students attending there now to get the same opportunities that we did.
Thank you in advance for your support.
