I am doing another 5K to help raise money to find a cure for a disease you have probably never heard of, Epidermoylosis Bullosa, EB. It is a life threatening genetic skin disorder that affects children from birth. Their skin is a fragile as a buttery's wings. The slightest touch can cause it to blister and shear off.
This is my very dear friend John Hudson. Some of you may know him or have seen him on the TV show the Doctors. He suffers from this rare disease and I was blessed to have been one of his nurses while I lived in NY.
He is the strongest child I have ever met. He and other children like him must endure bandage changes that take hours to complete. These dressing changes require the child to be heavily medicated on strong pain meds so that they may endure a bath usually with vinegar or bleach, removal of their old bandages, popping of their new blisters and the application of new bandages. Unfortunately this disease is not limited to the outside of their body it can also affect the inside, their mouths, eyes, esophagus, genitals. A child with the severe form of EB has a greater chance of dying before adulthood.
I am asking you, actually begging you, to please help me to help them by donating to this cause. Every little bit helps.
Thank you for your support.
