The Voice Project is working with musicians across the globe that believe that their art is an instrument for healing, reconciliation, and peace. Nowhere is music more powerfully used than in remote areas of the Congo.
For over 26 years, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) has been responsible for some of the worst atrocities in the world, abducting over 66,000 people - mainly children - and forcing them to join their ranks. These children are often forced to kill members of their family or community, and they are told by LRA commanders that UN Peacekeepers will kill them should they try to defect and return home.
MUSIC is the key to exposing these lies and letting these children know that they are forgiven and welcome home. Our school is working to raise funds to support these Congolese musicians and make sure that their forgiveness songs reach the ears of abducted LRA members.
