CHILD'S CUP FULL's Fundraiser:

Toys for Hope 2015

Refugee communities, and especially refugee women, need sustainable economic opportunities to break free from cycles of poverty and dependency. That's why we created Child's Cup Full - a non-profit social enterprise that trains and employs refugee women in the West Bank to use their craft and design skills to make high quality, handmade products that we can market and sell online and through retailers around the world. The profit from our sales goes directly towards expanding our initiative and supporting grassroots educational programming for children in the regions where our artisans live.

In 2012, we started the Toys for Hope economic center in Zababdeh, a village in the northern West Bank just outside of the Jenin refugee camp. We now have seven women employed full-time at our center, six women we hire on a contract basis, and a long list of women waiting to join the center. At the Toys for Hope center, our artisans make beautiful, handmade children's toys using surplus materials from local businesses. We are planning to expand our toy line this year to make new toys in preparation for the NY Now international trade show in August 2015. In order to make this happen, we need your help!

We want to develop the toy samples and our marketing strategy to get ready for August so that we can make a big impression on potential buyers. We are working with a volunteer toy designer in Los Angeles, who is now collaborating with our head designer in Zababdeh, Rahaf. They are working hard to develop the toy design concepts for Summer 2015, and we hope to bring our new toy samples to NY Now August 15-19th.

Supporting the Toys for Hope economic center means creating long-lasting economic opportunities for refugee communities in the West Bank. The more successful we are, the more sales we can bring in, which means we can train and employ more refugee women, and sponsor more grassroots education programs in refugee communities in the West Bank.
