Turning Point's leaders are putting their best feet forward and running in the Bay Ridge Half Marathon to raise money to support the Shower Project and the Shelter for Young Women!
Since 2009, the Shower Project at Turning Point has been quietly restoring hope and human dignity to the most downtrodden among us: homeless individuals in need of a daily shower, a simple snack, and a clean change of undergarments. The program also serves as a vital gateway to other Turning Point services, including drug and alcohol treatment, primary medical care, mental health services, supportive housing, and education.
Turning Point's Shelter for Young Women is a 37-bed temporary shelter for homeless females between the ages of 18 and 25. It offers not just a refuge from domestic violence and the horrors of life on the streets, but real help in transitioning to productive, independent lives through education, counseling, and job placement assistance.
We need your help to keep these services going, and to continue to change the lives of Brooklyn's most underserved individuals and families. And to prove our own personal commitment to this worthy cause, Turning Point's Executive Director and select members of the Board of Directors will be leading the way!
Please show your support by running with us, or by donating to support these vital services. Join us in making Brooklyn a better place for us all.
