BENEFITING: THINK PINK ROCKS
ORGANIZER: THINK PINK ROCKS
EVENT: NYC Half 2012
EVENT DATE: Mar 18, 2012
You would've thought I had enough after the Philadelphia Marathon this past November but I'm back! Some of my college girlfriends and I are going to train and run the New York City Half-Marathon in March, all the while, raising money for THINK PINK ROCKS.
THINK PINK ROCKS is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about early detection of and genetic testing for breast cancer and to provide funding for screening, treatment and research.
Did you know...
• A woman's risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer is greatly increased if she carries the BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation (Breast Cancer gene mutation).
• Men with these mutations also have an increased risk of breast and prostate cancer. Our team will raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.
Working in both basic research and clinical research has given me a greater understanding of the importance of supporting such work. Without contributions from the public, research would not be possible. All money raised for Think Pink Rocks from the NYC Half 2012 will benefit breast cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated!
Think Pink Rocks is a 501 (c) (3) organization. Contributions to Think Pink Rocks are tax deductable to the extent allowable by law.
