BENEFITING: THINK PINK ROCKS
ORGANIZER: THINK PINK ROCKS
EVENT: NYC Half 2013
EVENT DATE: Mar 17, 2013
On March 17, I am running my first half marathon in order to raise money for research to find a cure for and to help prevent breast cancer. This disease is one that sadly has affected all of us whether personally, or through a family member or friend’s battle.
I am running this race in honor of my friend Katherine. Katherine is an exceptional woman. She is one of the most hardworking and smartest individuals that I know. Every day she uses her great organizational, analytical and people skills to achieve her goals. Katherine is a kind and generous person that gives her all to her family, friends, clients, and co-workers. On December 20th, Katherine was diagnosed with breast cancer. While this is likely to be one of her greatest challenges, I have complete faith that she will one day be healthy and cancer free.
I wish that running this race would take away the pain and fear that people face during their battle with cancer. While that is not possible, I hope the money I raise as a member of Team Think Pink Rocks helps to offer some comfort through efforts to find a cure. Team Think Pink Rocks will be donating the funds raised to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City for breast cancer research. Please join me in making a generous tax-deductible contribution on Katherine’s behalf to help find a cure for this terrible disease.
