BENEFITING: THINK PINK ROCKS
ORGANIZER: THINK PINK ROCKS
EVENT: NYC Half 2013
EVENT DATE: Mar 17, 2013
My Dear Friends and Family,
I am running in the NYC half marathon for the Think Pink Rocks Team for many reasons.
A very corageous woman that I knew from Syracuse University lost her battle with Breast Cancer this year after a very strong fight. Meredith Israel will be remembered as a brave, admirable woman.
A friend from High School Beth Blazer continues to survive after beating her battle.
These woman have young children the same age as mine, which has deeply affected me in reminding me how easily any one of us or someone we love can experience this.
My Grandmother Rose Lee who continues to survive and thrive, who has always been a very strong influence on my life and someone I deelply admire. "Mama" is a wonderful grandmother of three and a great grandma to four children.
Turning fourty this year has motivated me to strive to reach a goal. I can show my children that Mommy is working hard to achieve something that in turn will help others.
Although my home is Marin, California now, New York will always be my hometown and I know the energy of New Yorkers will push me through this race.
We all love someone who has fought this disease or has been deeply affected by it.
I hope you will donate to this cause knowing you will be doing something to change the future of our children and generations to come.
With Much Love,

We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about early detection of and genetic testing for breast cancer and to provide funding for screening, treatment and research.
Did you know:
• A woman's risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer is greatly increased if she carries the BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation (Breast Cancer gene mutation).
• Men with these mutations also have an increased risk of breast and prostate cancer. Our team will raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.
All money raised for Think Pink Rocks from the NYC Half 2013 will benefit breast cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Some members of our team have a direct connection to breast cancer, but we also have many team members who are running or walking simply because they want to support a great cause.
Think Pink Rocks is a 501 (c) (3) organization. Contributions to Think Pink Rocks are tax deductable to the extent allowable by law.
PLEASE NOTE - WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO JOIN OUR FUNDRAISING TEAM FOR THIS GREAT CAUSE. HOWEVER, JOINING OUR FUNDRAISING TEAM DOES NOT PROVIDE YOU A SPOT IN THE NYC HALF 2013 UNLESS YOU HAVE CORRESPONDED WITH AND RECEIVED CONFIRMATION DIRECTLY FROM OUR TEAM CAPTAIN. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON HOW TO JOIN OUR TEAM FOR THE RACE, PLEASE EMAIL RICH, OUR TEAM CAPTAIN AT RICHRSL@YAHOO.COM.
