I Francois Gautier came to India from France 40 years ago and fell in love with it. I am proud to say I owe a debt to India, because this country has granted me so much, spiritually, professionally and even sentimentally. I was a young boy of 19, living in Paris, the city of my birth, when I heard that a caravan of cars was driving from Paris to Pondicherry. I had never thought about India, and had no interest in spirituality, but something in me pushed me to go. It took us six weeks to cross 10 countries and after many adventures, we reached Delhi. Right from my first night here, I felt I had come home and that India was a land of vast knowledge, a truth that eludes most westerners, because some of the paradox of the still apparent poverty and filth that blinds them. Over the years while covering India as a journalist I realized that there is a lot of politics and hostility towards the true history and heritage of India. We are never made to feel proud about our heritage and a lot of truth is hidden form us in the way we learn our history. The result is that we are unaware of existential threats that we face and have low cultural confidence. My way of giving back to the country that gave me so much is to be its cultural ambassador and advocate. Foundation for advancing cultural ties (FACT) has committed to preserving it for future generations. As a part of our fund raising efforts we are offering you training for 5k, 10k, half and full marathons with India's best ultra marathon runner - Arun Bharadwaj. Get training directly from Arun, run your race and fund-raise for FACT along the way. We will provide you all support necessary for completing the race and raising funds. FACT is committed to highlighting the magnificence of India and the threats to its sovereignty. To that effect we have four main activities a) building a grand museum of Indian history in Pune b) creation of short animation videos on local legends in Indian history 3) Rewriting Indian history text books to make them unbiased and pro-India 4) Maintain the largest digital library of rare history books on Indian history and culture.
