Transit Alliance of the Piedmont
Organized by: Beth Kizhnerman
The Transit Alliance of the Piedmont (TAP) represents all of us. For some, public transit is a necessity. For others, it's an amenity. For everyone, it contributes to an improved standard of living and serves as a building block for communities to grow, connect, and thrive.
Ask yourself: When visiting a city or on vacation have you ever used public transportation (maybe the Metro in DC or the subway system in NYC)? Most people will answer yes. Ask the same question about our own public transit options here in the Piedmont Triad and the answer is probably no. So why are we hesitant to use our own public transportation?
It's no secret that an efficient transit system is economical, convenient, environmentally sound, and connects people to opportunities. TAP exists to be a voice and an advocate for improved transit in our region. Because TAP is a grassroots, citizen-led organization, we are working to raise funds to obtain our 501(c)3 status and fund a 2016 Speaker Series.
If you are invested in our region, if you want to see your community grow, if you want a cheaper way to get to work, if you want a ride home from dinner and drinks, if you want the Piedmont Triad to be a destination - please consider supporting TAP.

"An advanced city is not one where even the poor use cars, but rather one where even the rich use public transport." - Enrique Peñalosa, Mayor of Bogotá
