Treasure Valley Down Syndrome Association

BENEFITING: Treasure Valley Down Syndrome Support Group Inc
The Treasure Valley Down Syndrome Association is made up of individuals with Down Syndrome, their families, friends, and volunteers who share one commonality; love for someone with Down syndrome. Where other people see differences, we see joy, kindness, and wisdom. We see a person who has blessed us by being in our lives. We seek to provide reassurance to new parents about tomorrow, to help celebrate today, to teach and to inspire, while learning more about ourselves. We also work to create awareness around Down syndrome so that the whole community will accept and recognize the greatness we see in our loved ones, not just the differences.
TVDSA was founded in 1982 by Billie Paetel, with the help of other parents who had children with Down syndrome. Their goal was to provide support and information, especially to new parents. Our mission has been the same today to enhance the quality of life for persons with Down syndrome by promoting inclusive environments, by advocating respect, dignity, and appropriate supports for people who have Down syndrome and by providing accurate information to parents, families and the community. We are managed by a volunteer board of directors that is guided by our members. We are funded by community support, and our annual event, the Buddy Walk.
Thank you for your support and generosity.
