Trevor got a job!
June 29, 2016
EVENT DATE Jun 03, 2016
This is Trevor. I met him 1 month ago. He was sleeping at LAX. Trevor was living with a friend in long beach after leaving SLC, where he grew up Mormon. His family will not help him because he's gay and they feel his lifestyle isn't in line with the teachings of their church. Not all Mormons treat their family this way, but that's how his family is. His friend he was living with sold her home to get married and Trevor ended up on the street, unemployed. Things spiralled downward quickly. One of his friends from Sacramento told me about him (thank you Tom Wager) and my son Nathan and I picked him up at the SW baggage claim area where he was sleeping and took him to west Hollywood, where we heard there are resources. What we discovered after a full day of going from shelter to shelter is that everything is full and he's on his own. It was horrid. I'm not able to put Trevor up in my house because of my living situation. I gave Trevor enough money for 6 nights in a youth hostel ($30 a night), a calling card for his unconnected iPhone (thank you Nathan) and food money. I feel confident that Trevor is going to find a job. He is scared, alone, and needs help getting re-established. The little amount of help I gave him will run out in a few days. Please help Trevor. He's a great kid. He's not on drugs, he's respectful and employable. Any donations I get for him I'll be sure that he is being smart with. He needs a job, a first paycheck and a roommate situation. Please help me help this kid.
