BENEFITING: WETLANDS INITIATIVE

Trevor Edmonson is running the Chicago Marathon on October 9, 2016, to support restoration at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. As project manager for TWI at Midewin, Trevor is hoping for a new ATV so that his team can restore 1,800 more acres of high-quality prairies and wetlands on Midewin’s west side. That’s a lot of ground to cover without a reliable ATV, even for a marathoner!
The Wetlands Initiative has partnered with the U.S. Forest Service on restoration projects at Midewin since 1997. At 20,000 acres, Midewin is the largest prairie restoration effort east of the Mississippi River, as well as the largest public open space in the Chicago metropolitan region. The 1,800 acres Trevor and his team are about to tackle is larger than any restoration project yet done there.
Make way for more native Illinois flora and fauna by supporting the marathon man who restores their habitats. Donate today and come back often to this page to follow Trevor in his final weeks of training.
