BENEFITING: Kids Cancer Alliance Inc.
EVENT DATE: Apr 28, 2017
Last year I was given the opportunity to volunteer for Kids Cancer Alliance as a counselor at their annual Indian Summer Camp and the entire experience was incredible. Being a pediatric cancer survivor myself, I pretty much jump at any chance to be "for the kids". However, what amazed me about Kids Cancer Alliance is that they not only focus on enriching the lives of the patients, but their families as well. During my week at camp I spent countless hours interacting with the siblings of children with cancer and it provided its own very unique and rewarding perspective that may sometimes go overlooked. Kids Cancer Alliance goes above and beyond to provide children with cancer experiences and support that they may not receive elsewhere, FREE to those children and their families. Thus, this year I have accepted an invitation to be a "Shoe Guy" on April 28, 2017 at the 2nd annual Wine, Women, and Shoes fundraising event. All money donated will go directly to Kids Cancer Alliance in order to send kids to summer camp, host family and teen weekend retreats, provide quarterly events for children with cancer, and improve their quality of life. Help me help these wonderful kids and their families by donating! I have set a $500 personal goal, I am determined to reach it. These children and their families are worth more than any amount of money, but by donating even a little bit you'll be helping more than you can imagine. Also, don't forget to come support at the Carrick House in Lexington, KY on April 28, 2017 at 6:30pm. I hope to see you there, and as always, FTK!
