BENEFITING: CORAL RESTORATION FOUNDATION INC
I am a molecular marine biology Ph.D. candidate and triathlete at Harvard University fascinated by the microbial diversity of the oceans. I am partnering with the Coral Restoration Foundation - a nonprofit ocean conservation organization based in Key Largo, Florida - to help them restore coral reefs which have been severely affected by climate change, pollution, and overfishing. The foundation farms corals in underwater nurseries and plants them back into degraded coral reefs. Learn more about how they are changing the world one coral at a time by watching this video.
I will participate in my first 70.3 Ironman triathlon race - Timberman 2016 - in New Hampshire on August 21. The race is a 1.2 mile swim, followed by a 56 mile bike ride and a half marathon run. Learn more about my race.
My goal is to raise $10 for every mile I cover. All the donations will go directly to the foundation to help them continue this very timely and important ecological restoration.
Let's all tri our best, TriForOceans!
