EVENT: Tough Mudder Tahoe 2016
EVENT DATE: Jun 11, 2016
Three years ago my father and creator of Trilotac was diagnosed with Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever). First diagnosis was that he had a common cold followed with possible pneumonia. When a month went by and no sign of getting better the doctors tested him for tuberculosis but came back negative. They finally did a simple blood test for Coccidioidomycosis, which only takes a few days for results and it came back positive. Coccidioidomycosis is a rare disease that is inhaled from spores in the air/dust and is a major epidemic in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. We live in an area where it occurs, yet our doctors are unaware. If not treated immediately, like my father, it is permanently with you. Chills, fatigue, fever, and shortness of breath are just a few of the symptoms that are with you for life. My fathers life and many other friends lives will forever be challenging, but it doesn't have to be that way. Our mission at TRILOTAC is to raise funds, in effort to produce a vaccine or a cure through the "Valley Fever Americas Foundation" and to raise awareness in collaboration with "Valley Fever Warriors United".
