Dear friends and family,
As many of you know it has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl to travel the world and take care of little ones. It's probably why I told my grandma when I was 5years old that I wanted to be a nurse! I am happy to say that dreams come true and the day has finally come! I am so excited to share that I will be heading to Malawi Africa in May, for two weeks, to spend time in an orphanage. I can't put into words how grateful I am for this experience! I'll be working with kids in villages around the area and hope to enrich their lives through various activities such as dance, sports, music and teaching valuable skills. I am so excited for this journey and can't wait to tell you all about the sweet faces I'll meet! The best part is that you can help make this dream a reality. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and tax decuctable. Everything helps raise money for these kiddos! Thank you all for your love, support and encouragement!
Malawi is a small, landlocked country in southeast Africa. It is known as the “Warm Heart of Africa” with a population of over 16 million. It is among the worlds least-developed countries, and relies heavily on outside aid. This beautiful country has worked hard to make changes and empowering and educating children is a key to their future. There is an estimated 800,000 orphans in Malawi due to HIV/Aids, famine and other causes, who need shelter, nutrition, education and love. Kusewera is working to do what we can to empower these kids and young adults through various projects in Malawi. We will be working with children in the Chitipi area of Lilongwe and at the Jacaranda School in Blantyre.
