KUSEWERA wrote -Manila is home to more than 200,000 street kids, with 1.7 million children living in impoverished and crowded informal settlements springing up all across Metro Manila. Many of these children, rather than going to school, are taking to the streets to beg, work and play. Kusewera works with the New Faith Family Children’s Home located in Cainta, just outside Manila. The children at the home come to them for a variety of reasons, but most have been abused, neglected or abandoned. This service trip allows volunteers to work with these kids through our Kusewera daily program clinics, and with Josie’s Angels, a home for teenage girls. We’ll also work alongside other volunteers at various tent cities and serve a hot meal and medicine to those in need. The last 2 days of the trip, you’ll get to see another part of the island and trek over to Pagsanjan Falls and other areas in the beautiful Laguna province.
