Friends and Family
I have been blessed with the opportunity to go to the Philippines to help kids with an organization called Kusewera. Kusewera is a non-profit 501(c)(3) whose mission is to empower and educate children in impoverished countries through active and creative play. In the villages I would particpate in activities such as sports, dance, music, art and more with the kids.
I plan to travel to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, which is home to more than 200,000 street kids, with 1.7 million children living in impoverished and crowded informal settlements springing up all across Metro Manila. I am excited to being able to help these kids by serving them hot meals and providing medicine to those in need. Many of the children do not recieve an education but are on the streets begging, working and playing. We will help the children through some of the many Kusewera daily program clinics. Kusewera works with the New Faith Family Children’s Home which provides a home to kids who have been neglected, abused, or abandoned. We will also be working with Josie's Angels, a home for teenage girls, and alongside other volunteers at various tent cities.
I was fortunate enough to join Kusewera last summer on a trip to Malawi, Africa in July of 2015. In Malawi I helped/served/played with the children at an orphanage in Lilongwe. My experience in Malawi completely changed my life and I would encourage anyone who has the opportunity to experience it. I thought that I was there to help the children but they actually helped me as much if not more. The children showed me what true joy is and I want to be able to give back to them again.
With your help, you will allow me to take the opportunity to help in more ways then you can imagine. If it is on your heart to donate, please press the orange "donate" button to the right. (All donations are fully tax-deductable!) I want to be able to change someone's life and with your help I can!
Thankyou for your support!
