Team Slaan is comprised of Don Slager (the old man who will ride his bike) and two of his nephews-- Adam Haan (age 16, who will swim) and Joshua Slager (age 20, who will run). Your financial support will help us to raise funds for Elim's 2nd Annual Tri to Make a Difference event.
With your help, we can raise enough funds to purchase school supplies for 4,000 Inner-city HOPE Packs, and then, in turn, hire 150 adults with disabilities to assemble the kits, and give the packs away to thousands of children at under-resourced schools in the Chicago area!
We (Team Slaan) and other Elim supporters are participating in the Chicago Triathlon on August 29 and 30, 2015 as the means to raise funds for the purchasing Inner-City HOPE Packs. In 2014, enough money was raised for over 3,500 Inner-City HOPE Packs.
Elim's HOPE Packs program gives adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to assemble school supply kits for disadvantaged children in Chicago. HOPE Packs provides Elim’s adults hard-to-find, meaningful employment and gives them the opportunity to serve others -- something that brings them deep joy and fulfillment. The HOPE Packs program also provides needy children with essential classroom supplies, equipping them for success in school. HOPE Packs is a double blessing!
We would love if you could contribute. Every donation will help Adam to swim faster and Josh to run faster too. (Don just does not want to crash.)
