BENEFITING: The Nature Conservancy
EVENT DATE: May 31, 2016
I am a lifelong Reno resident, who really loves the Truckee River. Who doesn’t appreciate this beautiful, clear, amazing river? We are incredibly lucky to live in a region blessed with this body of water. So I would like to help raise money for Restoration Projects occurring East of Sparks.
Since the Late 90's The Nature conservancy has made it their goal to restore 20 miles of River damaged by poor flood control projects. Since then, over 11 miles of have been beautifully restored. Once eroded banks, flat river bottoms, and life less river banks, now the river has a vibrant Riparian zone, loaded with willows, cotton woods, deep pools, and tons of new life.
If you are an avid angler like I am, then you should consider this as a way to give back, to help make the future on the Truckee River a better place. All donations will go towards finishing the final 9 miles that need restoration. Please, give today, and reap the benefit tomorrow!
