Help a Homeless Disabled Vet get off the streets, and into stable living conditions

Cristina Calderon

As a survivor of Military Sexual Trauma, as well as the "sweeping under the rug of it", I have had some MAJOR life traumas, including becoming an orphan, a few years back. I feel all alone in the world, but I get hugs and occasional gifts of money from concerned citizens who actually CARE about the struggling Veterans, of our Armed Forces.
What I need--Car repairs: 500 bucks; Car registration: 600 bucks, because good ol' Cali NOW puts parking tickets along with it. :-( ; educational debt: $2,400; gas money ($40) to settle a ticket for working in the city of Alhambra (they discriminate against Veterans working there, self-employed), which has adversely affected my job searching. Security deposit and first month's rent, for a military housing voucher-accepted, apartment: $900. Food ($60), because malnutrition is hurting my employabiliity, too. Purchase my poetry books, to distribute for income, too....when I buy in bulk, I save. As an artist, musician and FULL-TIME VOLUNTEER, I stay busy, but sleeping in my car has put a slight damper, on my cool, typically-happy disposition. I am a minimalist, but have compounded issues that have been on back burner, as I work piddly jobs for 5-8 bucks, an hour. My resume dictates 30-80 bucks, an hour. Being overqualified can affect, negatively ,too. I hold back tears, hoping and praying for breakthrough. I do not want to die of a broken heart, or from malnutrition.
