I am so excited to be a part of Memphis' first "Dancing with the Survivors" fundraiser for The Pink Fund with Fred Astaire Dance Studio! I'll be fulfilling a lifelong dream in the next few weeks and learning a dance routine with one of the studio's professional dancers. Until now, my dance experience consisted of one season of tap dance lessons at the age of 6, culminating in a recital to the tune of "Mickey Mouse's Birthday Party" (I remember the words to the song, but not the dance steps!). My partner sure has his work cut out for him!
On October 2, my dance partner, Cole and I and the other team members will present our dances and celebrate with food and drink at Rhitt's on Rex. Tickets are available to the public and I would love to see all my friends there that night! If you can't attend, please consider a donation to the Pink Fund, as it is a truly worthwhile cause and 100% of the money raised here goes to help breast cancer patients right here in our community!
The Pink Fund is a wonderful organization founded by breast cancer survivor Molly MacDonald. During breast cancer treatment, many patients are unable to work and experience loss of income that can result in catastrophic financial losses. The Pink Fund provides non-medical financial aid to cover cost of living expenses such as health insurance, housing, transportation, and utilities for breast cancer patients in need. By providing a financial bridge, they help to meet basic needs, decreasing stress levels and allowing patients to focus on healing.
Thank you and I hope to see you October 2!
