Tree Trust Green Futures
EVENT DATE: May 13, 2017
The Green Futures fund has been creating greener futures for Twin Cities metro communities since 2008. Since its inception, this initiative has added 1,125 trees to the Twin Cities environment, and is increasing in importance due to the onset of emerald ash borer and the imminent loss of 2,000,000 trees in the metro in coming years. Unfortunately, trees aren't considered part of the infrastructure in most municipal budgets, so not much gets budgeted to add trees to the canopy or replace trees which are lost due to pests, storms, or disease.
