Tudor Investment's outstanding 2013 summer interns completed a day of service with Robin Hood to benefit grantee Leadership Prep Ocean Hill, a member of the Uncommon Schools Charter Network. This elementary school needed to make room for the new class of rising fifth graders (the first class of Leadership Prep Ocean Hill Middle Academy) and in order to do so they expanded to the fourth floor. The new classrooms needed a lot of love before they open their doors to students this fall. The interns moved desks, chairs, and boxes up and down flights of stairs. They also covered hallway bullitin boards, organized classrooms, set up offices, sorted files, and beautified every possible inch they could get their hands on.
To keep their spirit of philanthropy alive once their internship ends, they are stepping up to the challenge of incorporating fundraising, advocacy, and volunteering into their lives for the remainder of 2013 (and hopefully beyond!).
Winner takes all. And by all we mean solid bragging rights and a totally awesome prize.
