EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
I am so excited to run the 2015 Boston Marathon as a member of the Tufts Marathon Team! Thank you for visiting my page and considering giving to my fundraising goal.
I started running in 2008, after graduating from Tufts and starting a year of service as an AmeriCorps member at LIFT. With the encouragement and inspiration of my dad (a two-time Boston finisher who has been running for 40 years, and who continues to get up at 4am every day to knock out a few miles), I made the transition from eighteen years as a dancer to becoming a runner. The next few years took me to the Dominican Republic to co-found Health Horizons International, back to the US and to LIFT, and to many places in between. Through it all, running has been the consistent backbone holding it all together - mentally, emotionally, and physically.
I came to love running so much, that the goal of running the Boston Marathon began to take shape -- and, with a few half marathons and a lot of miles behind me, I am grateful and thrilled to continue this journey all the way to the finish line on April 20, 2015.
Boston is a very special marathon, and I am tremendously fortunate to be tackling this challenge with and in support of the Tufts community. Tufts has been a home, a network of support, and a source of inspiration and guidance both as a student and an alum, and it is so meaningful to be a part of this team as a marathoner. I would so appreciate your help to reach my fundraising goal of $5,000 to support Tufts' programs and research in nutrition, medicine, and fitness. The belief that all people should have the opportunity of a healthy life drives me in my professional life, and I am proud to support Tufts' work toward this vision as a Marathon Team runner.
Thank you so much for your support!
With love and appreciation,
