BENEFITING: Trustees of Tufts College
ORGANIZER: Trustees of Tufts College
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
The 119th Boston Marathon will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 and I am beginning to think it will be one of the best days of my life. Too brazen? Nah, fearless and plucky is more like it. One has to be to run 26.2 miles!
This will be my first full-marathon and undeniably the most physically challenging undertaking I have attempted to date. I am committed to not only finishing the race, but also making a positive impact at an institution that is doing everything right. I am asking you (my family, friends, and anyone who wants to be a part of this journey) to help me raise $5,000 to support Tufts' Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, specifically nutrition and childhood obesity research programs.
Many of you know I took up running awhile back, so I joined the Tufts Marathon Team. In hopes of representing Tufts in this year's Boston Marathon, I started training and going to practice runs (sometimes in 10 degree weather). Right before the holidays, I found out I made the cut! We are a strong team and I can’t wait to tackle heartbreak hill with them in April.
I feel so blessed. Last year, I moved to Boston to achieve a life-long goal of living in my favorite city. I got a job at Tufts University School of Medicine and I love working for one of the best medical schools in the nation. When I wake up, I look forward to going to work. This means a lot.
Nothing would make me happier than having my loved ones and fans contribute to the campaign in my honor. I can't wait to achieve this goal and make you all proud.
