EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
I don't like running. Not in the least. Before I started running with the Tufts Marathon Team, I had never run more than 10km/6.3 miles. I just didn't understand the appeal.
But I decided that I wanted to run a marathon my senior year, and I've been so lucky to have had the opportunity to do that with the Tufts Marathon Team this year. I've been surprising myself at every run, every mile - I never even thought I would ever begin to attempt something like this, but I have. More importantly, I've been keeping at it. And I'm going to continue keeping at it.
Please consider donating to my campaign - I'm helping the Tufts team raise money for the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, with the $$ going towards research on childhood obesity and other such medical and fitness programs. But every donation is also encouragement for me as I get ready to run 26.2 miles on April 20, in one of the most famous marathons in the world. It's an incredible privilege.
Running still sucks, but I'm keeping at it - and who knows? Maybe I'll come to like it, just a little bit.
Each year, 100 runners make the journey from Hopkinton to Boston to support nutrition, medical, and fitness programs at Tufts University, including research on childhood obesity at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
The Tufts Marathon Team (TMT) is the largest known collegiate marathon program in the United States, attracting runners from around the country.
During the 2014 marathon season, the team raised $467,139. Since its inception in 2003, the TMT has raised more than $4,554,711.
