The Catastrophic typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines on November 8 bringing devastating destruction to 36 providences. The typhoon is believed to have affected up to 4.6 million children who are now struggling to survive without food, shelter and clean drinking water. With serious damage to water and sanitation systems, the aftermath of the typhoon is now threatening the area with outbreaks of cholera, malaria, hepatitis, dengue and other fatal diseases - the second wave of the disaster. UNICEF urgently requires USD $34.3 million to support its action plan.
