THE STORY:

My name is Ashley and my son is Shea. He is an 8th grader in Oregon and has struggled throughout school battling ADHD which has forced him to have an Independent Education Plan and utilize additional resources to stay current with his academics. He has been accepted to the Thomas Edison High School program, which is an amazing private school for children with Learning Disabilities. This school is the only way for Shea to acheive the success necessary to eventually attend college. He is also a dedicated student athlete and is hopeful to play for Thomas Edison's partner school Jesuit High School in both basketball and football. Thomas Edison provides the accomodations necessary for his learning style, which is something the public school system cannot offer. If he is unable to attend this high school I fear he will fall in the cracks of the public school system. He is the most friendly and caring child you will ever meet and deserves the chance to be great! I was just informed that he will not receive financial aid for his freshman year, but will be eligable for the following years of high school. I have never done a Go Fund Me, nor do I ask for handouts, but for my son I will do whatever necessary for his future. I am hoping to raise these funds by the first day of school on August 30th, 2016. I appreciate any help that you may provide.  I know times are hard on us all; as a single mother myself I understand financial hardships. I have a big goal to raise, but I am confident I can get the support necessary to send Shea to this school! Thank you so much and God bless!
