Tuition for Jennie
Organized by: cynthia thelen
I am the Director of the Caring Connections Ministry that equips women in poverty or in recovery from substance abuse to apply life and job skills to become self sufficient by empowering them to learn a new perspective and approach to life and by providing mentors that encourage them on their journey of change. Jennie has been connected to our program for 2 years and it has been a joy to watch her bloom. She overcame addiction and poor choices that led to incarcerations and has changed her life. She is a single mother to a 2 year daughter, works full time, has been sober for 3 years and earned a Associates Degree in December 2015 with a 3.85 GPA. Her last semester she earned a 4.0. She was recently accepted to Campbell University Social Work Program and needs help with tuition. This is a huge accomplishment for Jennie and a college degree opens up many opportunities and allows her to give back to her community as a social worker. Campbell is a private school and is expensive. She was denied admission to our local state college due to her criminal background and through our connections has been given a chance at Campbell. We are hoping to raise $32,000 to cover two years of school and a little extra would be great to help to offset living expenses/child care costs during her 2 year studies when she can not work as many hours. Your donation will make a difference in her life and the life of her daughter! You will donate to a designated fund in our ministry and funds will given directly to the college for tuition.
