I have a really good friend of whom I am very proud of and would love to help financially with her student loan debt. I had the opportunity to be friended two years ago and we have become really good friends. When she opened up to me about her past, I was floored, amazed and really proud of her. She has two children, since her divorce she has been living as a single mom. Her children are about to start college and she still has her own college debt. Under normal circumstances this story up to this sentence would not move me, however her story is truly a prime example of bravery and after the significant difficulties, and I want to offer her help. The problem is that I am able to effort to cover her total amount of tuition myself and decided to start this fundraiser. So what is this story about my friend that has moved me you ask? About a decade ago, she was assaulted and brutally beaten in her own home by a stranger. This 95 pound petite woman took the full brunt of anger of her assaulter. She was beaten so bad that she was in the hospital for 3.5 months. Because of the injuries to her head during the assault she lost her memory, she did not even know who she was, her children or any of her friends. She had to learn everything all over again, how to talk, eat, do math, even how to hold a pen. She was back to being 3 years old. It took a lot of time, money, will power, strength and dedication to help her through her re-education and private tutoring. She used to be a registered nurse before the assault, however she could no longer practice her profession since she had to relearn everything again. Thanks to her family, friends and her ex-husband, she was able to recover and become a functioning citizen again. She then also went back to school to get her advance medical degree. She has completed her studies this spring and will need to start paying back her student loans this fall after her 6 month grace period is over. With her trying to pay for her children’s school and now college the college bills are around the corner. Because of this assault, she has nearly lost her life, she has lost her own identity, her memories, her home, savings and almost lost her two children. She had to bravely restart her life all over again. I want to help her by paying some if not all of her student loans, which is over $40,000. I am capping this fundraiser at $40,000 and I will pay for the rest. After such a challenge presented to her, having to relearn everything all over again and being successful and accomplished than many people really shows her strength and dedication in trying to be an amazing mother to her children by providing them with the best life she can provide. With your help, I want to make things a little easier on her and allow her to focus her on what she has fought so hard for, her children and not have to worry about the debt she has accrued trying to relearn and succeed in life, again for her children. Any amount you can donate to her school fund will most definitely help and significantly appreciated. I really would like to meet the $40,000 goal for her. Thank you very much…
