When I first heard of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers foundation, I knew I had to become a part of it. As my friends and family know I have always been "in love" with Manhattan. Those that know me, also know I have great love and pride in my husband and friends who risked and continue to risk their lives as Police Officers. I also have family that served and continue to serve this country, in the military. This foundation raises money and awareness to those who sacrifice their lives and limbs, for all of us. The money goes to build specially designed homes for the wounded soldiers. This foundation recently paid off the mortgage of the two NYC slain police officers Liu and Ramos. Stephen was off duty the day of 9/11. He ended up having to get out of his vehicle and run with his firefighter gear (60lbs) over 3 miles to get to the Towers. He perished that day, inside one of the towers as it came crashing down. This race duplicates the run he made to save lives. Please take the time to read his story and stories of others that this foundation has helped. Any donation is much appreciated.
