Turn Back Time is a nature based education program that gives over 200 children a year the opportunity to connect with and benefit from the environment in a holistic way. We need your help to build a large indoor space to run programs in ALL weather.
- Turn Back Time began operating in 2011 on Burris Farm in Paxton, Massachusetts, and received 501c3 Non-profit status in November 2012. The property has many attributes including an active beaver pond, forty-seven acres of forestry that is used for exploration and learning. Burris Farm is also home to therapeutic farm animals, including a horse, pony and two goats. Other animals are raised on the farm as livestock including pigs, turkeys and chickens.
- Since opening, Turn Back Time has created and implemented a nature focused curriculum in a variety of programs including a preschool and mommy and me programs, after school program, a home school program and an annual summer camp.
- Summer camp is one of Turn Back Time’s fastest growing programs, which has developed from just a few participants to over one hundred and forty children attending the 2015 season. We would like to see our yearly programs experience the same growth our summer camp program has attained. For this to happen we believe we need to provide some sort of indoor educational space.
- Turn Back Time plans to continue offering services to all populations in all seasons by building a barn or large greenhouse that will provide indoor educational space. With access to a large indoor space we can be sure that we are able to continue our farming programs in winter and provide safe shelter for larger groups during inclement weather in all seasons. Although we believe that children can and will play outside in all seasons, we understand that having a barn space will address these concerns and give educational access to a larger population of participants throughout the year.
