EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
I am an African. I love the bush and the people of Africa. I am acutely aware of the dual challenge of development and conservation facing Africa. Supporting Tusk Trust and it’s amazing work will make a meaningful contribution to this unique continent.
If you have a passion for conservation, a love for Africa, and would like to support me in this endeavour, I would like to appeal to you for whatever support you can afford.
Tusk Trust is a small dynamic organisation, with twenty-two years experience initiating and funding conservation, community development and education programmes across Africa. It works in partnership with Tusk USA Inc. based in New York.
Tusk's current range of 57 field projects in 16 African countries is intended to not only protect wildlife, but also help alleviate poverty through sustainable development programmes and education amongst rural communities who live alongside that wildlife. As the ever-expanding human population and its demand for more land brings it into increasing conflict with wildlife, Tusk's aim is to forge a link between the preservation of Africa's natural heritage and the future of its land, culture and people.
Tusk has earned a reputation for being non-bureaucratic and for maximising donor funds reaching the field. HRH the Duke of Cambridge became the charity's Royal Patron in 2005 and has been a proactive supporter of Tusk's work ever since.
