BENEFITING: BREAST CANCER COALITION OF ROCHESTER INC
EVENT DATE: May 08, 2016
Dusting off the pink tutus & getting ready for another wonderful Mother's Day holding Gin close to our hearts...
Thank you for once again coming to read, remember and maybe even donate in memory of my mother, and my boys' grandmother, Gin. She continues to have such as strong presence in our lives and we are so grateful that you continue to help us remember the best woman I have ever known.
This year will be the 6th year our family takes part in the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester's Pink Ribbon 5K. It is an event that has become so important to us. In the weeks leading up to the race, we spend time telling the boys about my mom and are reminded all of the wonderful friends and family who continue to hold her close to their hearts.
Grandma Gin left us 22 years ago, but she is never forgotten. Research, testing and treatment have come so far since that time - allowing me to know that I will see my boys grow without the fear that encompassed our family during her battle with breast cancer.
Because the funding donated by people like you to organizations like the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester - I have replaced the fear with the knowledge that I am negative for the BRCA1 & BRCA 2 mutations, and get a clean bill of health each January from the advancing screening tools at the Elizabeth Wende Breast Clinic. Each dollar that you donate directly impacts research and support for families coping with the disease.
Our family appreciates any support you offer. Whether it be a dollar amount, putting on a tutu and joining us, or just remembering Grandma Gin - we love you for it.
Her fight will always be our fight.....this is for my mother.
