BENEFITING: Chinquapin Center For The Arts
Last summer, the Chinquapin Arts Center and the newly formed arts company Twin Heroes came together to start an arts festival here in the beautiful Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon.
We held a two week residency and produced two concerts featuring two world premieres: Vows a string quartet by the emerging young composer, Seven Sky and selections from Alexander Vassos' new the electro-acoustic opera Through Bardon Jungles. The response from the community was incredible. Last summer was such a success we're expanding our residency from two weeks to four. In response to our country's crisis of devisions all our programming will be centered around the themes of compassion and common ground.
This summer we're presenting six chamber music concerts, more opera excerpts from Through Bardon Jungles, along side The Turning of the Page a new commission by Seven Sky and spoken-word poet Blaine Alexander Lindsay. In addition Twin Heroes is producing a Queer Dance and Arts Celebration featuring performances and and art exhibition of the Rogue Valley's LGBTQ artists. In addition, the resident string quartet will give masterclass to young musicians to foster creative talent in area.
We cannot accomplish this expansion without your generous help.
