BENEFITING: Futures Without Violence
Charity: Futures Without Violence (rated 4 out of 4 stars by Charitynavigator.org)
Updated: Thank you to all who supported our cause by allowing us to reach our fundraising goal and charity goal to increase awareness of domestic violence and emotional abuse. I thank my friend Soonhyeok Kook for sparking the spirit to challenge myself, and wish him the best as he continues with his bjj fights. I have decided to postpone my own competition goal in order to train more, and volunteer as a coach in my sons' classes instead. I am extremely grateful that, through this journey, I have found humility, respect, a better appreciation for my wife (and women in general), and a better way to show my sons how to grow as good men. To my friends, let us continue this fight worth having.
Original post: What can men do to teach respect for and help end violence against women and girls? Never enough. But Soonhyeok Kook and I will try. Join our journey towards the North American Grappling Association's Houston Championship tournament on February 13, 2016. The preparation and fight will be difficult - my first time to do anything like this. But the struggle will be trivial compared to the daily battles faced by the women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse. Thank you for sharing this important awareness and support.
