BENEFITING: The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust USA
EVENT DATE: Nov 19, 2016
Felicia Elizabeth wrote -Friends and family, each day close to 100 elephants are slaughtered for their tusks leaving many of their family members behind, desperate for survival. At this current rate of poaching, elephants are expected to be extinct in the wild by the year 2025. As most of you know, Tyler and I are huge animal lovers and I am personally obsessed with these intelligent, gorgeous, and majestic creatures. For the first time, we are running a 10k this Saturday, November 19th, in the beautiful Central Park called Save the Elephant Run. We are asking for your support with a small donation that would benefit The David Wildlife Trust based in Nairobi, Kenya. Established in 1977, this organization has gained world-wide recognition as one of the most successful elephant rescue and rehabilitation centers and wildlife and habititat conservation centers of East Africa. DSTW have successfully raised over 150 infant elephants and released them back into the wild, with 25 milk-dependent calves currently being orphaned. Funds raised will be used for veterinary fees, food, and providing a safe haven for all of the African wildlife they are taking care of. Please help support us in this very special cause and feel free to foster an elephant, rhino or giraffe at http://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/asp/fostering.asp !
