When I was one, I had my right leg amputated below the knee due to the birth defect fibularhemomila (which means I was born without my fibula). I have played tennis and basketball, skateboarded, and have done many other activities over the past few years. The one thing that has stuck for me is skiing. To be specific, Alpine Ski Racing. I have been skiing for over 10 years and I love it. I am currently training for the 2014 Paralympics in Sochi, Russia. I train with the National Sports Center for the Disabled in WInter Park, CO. I am also on the U.S. E-Team, which is an invite only team of adaptive upcoming ski racers. In the off-season I spend my days at Fitness by Ina in Kutztown to get in shape for the winter. I also volunteer with numerous camps and programs including the IM ABle Foundation, Adaptive Sports Foundation, Pennsylvania Center for Adaptive Sports, Amputee Coalition Summer Youth Camp, and Disabled Sports USA.
I am fundraising so that I can cover this season's expenses. Mainly I need to cover my housing rent for the winter. I also need a new pair of slalom skis and a new set of bindings. Our goal is $10,000, which would cover my whole season. Thank you to everyone for their support. I really appreciate it! Check out my website: www.tcskiusa.com
