World Diabetes Day: Faces of Diabetes!
Organized by: Tracy Brokmeier
World Diabetes Day is November 14, 2016!
15-year-old Noah, a.k.a., "The Diabetes Dude" is taking over digital billboards across the United States as part of a diabetes awareness campaign for World Diabetes Day.
This awareness campaign is extremely interactive as these digital billboards will connect directly to The Diabetes Dude's Facebook and Twitter social media accounts, which allows YOU to send in your pictures and messages of all things diabetes-related! Once we've established which billboards we're using, we'll put that information out to the public via social media as well as our websites, www.thediabetesdude.com and www.typeonepositive.com and we'll ask you to either start submitting your pictures and messages early so we can load them to social media ourselves, or you can participate the day of the event, 11/14/2016, by posting your messages and pictures right on our Facebook page or tagging us on Twitter!
Noah has done this event in the past on a much smaller scale in Times Square, but this year, he's got big plans to get your messages of diabetes awareness out on billboards in the following areas: Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Florida, but if we raise enough money, we're happy to rent out other billboards in other areas as well so please let us know if you know of one and we'll contact the company who runs it!
These billboards cost money and while we've been given a reduced cost because of our nonprofit status, there is still quite a fee to "rent" space for this one day event, which is why we're asking for YOUR help! We can't do this without your help to raise the funds to do this!
The Diabetes Dude is affiliated with the nonprofit organization, Type One Positive, under the Internal Revenue Service's section 501c3 as of 09/07/2016 under EIN 81-3742619.
