BENEFITING: LOS ALTOS ROTARY ENDOWMENT FUND INC
Goal: Send graduating seniors to college
The Students for Haiti Solidarity at UCLA club aims to provide graduating SOPUDEP seniors with the opportunity to attend university, which is often an extreme financial burden for these students and their families. SOPUDEP is one of the few K-12 public schools in Port-au-Prince, Haiti that services over 800 children and adults.
Some of the students desire to study Engineering, Nursing, Teaching, Business Management, and so much more, all with the same dream of giving back to their own communities. On average, it only costs $2,000 per year to send one student to college in Haiti. Our goal is to be able to send at least one of the nine students needing funds to college, which is approximately $8,000 for all four years.
These students are the bright minds that will use their education to change their communities, country, and in turn our entire world. If you are interested in more information regarding the students we are fundraising for, please check out our website.
