Make a gift in honor of Joan Arnold
August 31, 2017
EVENT DATE: Oct 14, 2017
I'm running the Hartford Half Marathon in honor of my mother, Joan Arnold, who was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm and will be having open-heart surgery in September. She will be directly benefiting from the talented surgeons and nurses who work at the Calhoun Cardiology Center. We have been impressed with their kind nature and immense knowledge.
My Mom has always been an active and fit woman. She loves, dancing, swimming, and doing handstands in the pool. The news of her aneurysm was shocking but it can happen to anyone. As you all are probably aware, the leading cause of dealth for all women is heart disease. This fact has raised my awareness that we need to do more for cardiology research and education now.
I hope you'll consider making a gift today in honor of my mother as we prepare for the biggest surgery of her life.
Your gift will support all facets of the Center, from patient care to research equipment. All gifts will be administered by the UConn Foundation to benefit the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center at UConn Health.
I will run in her honor as she recoevers this October. Prayers are welcomed!
