UNITE is an umbrella group of the Panhellenic Council at the University of Connecticut and is open to all sorority women attending the university. We discuss women's issues that are important in the Greek community, but also strive to foster positive relationships and empower women.
We recently adopted the Circle of Sisterhood Foundation as our philanthropy. The Circle of Sisterhood Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to "leverage the collective wisdom and influence of sorority women to support entities around the world that remove educational barriers for girls and women, uplifting them from poverty and oppression". They do this by providing education and training, building schools, and create mentor programs in countries such as India, Malawi, Cambodia, Uganda, Kenya, Mexico, Thailand, Afghanistan, Zambia, Senegal, Ethiopia, and yes, the United States. The foundation also focuses on helping victims of sexual and physical abuse reintegrate into society.
Our event will feature a watermelon-eating contest as well as various prize-giveaways!
Our goal is to raise $1,000 in online donations and another $1,000 at the event.
Please help us reach our goal so we can improve the lives of women all over the world.
