Twenty bucks sure doesn't go very far these days. For a college student, however, $20 can purchase a monthly bus pass...a lifetime supply of Top Ramen...or even a thrift-store dining set. And when a lot of $20 bills join together, they can provide an education, and the promise of a better future.
Can you spare twenty bucks to help a kid pay for college?
UCR Palm Desert's Jill Sweitzer, and the Coachella Valley Water District's Lorraine Acosta have teamed up to run the Los Angeles Marathon on March 20, 2011 as a fundraiser for UC Riverside's Scholarship Fund benefiting Pathways to Success, an organization whose many missions include helping finance the education of Coachella Valley students who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford college. Read all about Pathways to Success at: www.cvpts.com.
With your generous, tax-deductible donation of at least twenty bucks, Jill and Lorraine's sore knees and blistered feet will parlay into a better life for a deserving local student.
Thank you for reading, and for your much-appreciated support.
