Raising money to improve the health of the Upper Deschutes River, which a portion of is a wild and scenic river south of Bend, OR.
The goal of the project is to enhance the outstandinly remarkable values of the river and thier immediate environments for the benefit of present and future generations.
Off road vehicles have created 4 miles of illegal roads and trails, people are dumping trash and destroying the river banks.
The work includes removing illigal roads, cleaning up trash, blocking paths leading to the river, placing boulders and trees to protect the river, planting seedlings and native grass.
The Upper Deschutes River Coaliton www.udrc.org was formed in 2004 and have spent $614,000 in our 69,000 acre service area.
We have 28 neighborhoods as partners plus the US Forest Service, Oregon Dept of Forestry, Project Wildfire, Oregon Dept of Fish and Wildlife and other nonprofits.
