Uganda Trip 2014
Organized by: Kari Wilson
EVENT DATE Dec 26, 2014
I have the privilege of spending my Christmas break in Uganda this year. I will be going with a team of 8 people from McLean Bible Church. Our trip leaves on December 26 and returns January 3.
We will be visiting a Christian school—sitting in on classes, distributing Bibles to the students, ministering to the teachers, and showing the love of Christ to these precious children. The majority of the kids who attend this school are orphans. They speak/teach in English at this school so we will not need to use any translators—that is a huge blessing!
We also will visit a juvenile detention center where around 40% of the kids who live there are only there because they don’t have anywhere else to live—not because they have done anything wrong.
Why would I want to spend my Christmas break in Africa?
• This trip is an opportunity to put the needs of others above myself—to serve those who desperately need it.
• It is an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and love those the world sees as unlovable.
• It is a chance to see how the vast majority of the world lives and get a healthy dose of worldly perspective.
• And, it is an opportunity to put my faith into action—to share Christ with the world.
Would you please consider helping to support my trip financially? The total cost of my trip is $3,500—this includes airfare, hotel, meals, transportation, insurance, and ministry supplies for the entire week.
For Christmas this year, I’m asking to go to Uganda. I would be so grateful if you could support me on this journey.
Remember, if you give before Dec. 31 it is tax-deductible!
